@quinceythao hindu religion is wrong and buddhism which derived from hinduism is the correct path. It’s all about following the correct path which the masters tell us. OR, we evolved from mud and everything is pointless. LOL

taoism is a bit diverse- or more like VERY diverse & broad. The common ground is that its more a keen to nature- hell its about nature.

Taoism translated Dao shi- the study of the way. This refers to the way of nature & man’s relation to it. philosophical daoism not so much about heaven & such but more about respecting the microcosms & macrocosms of things

Confucianism is the dao of man. Its all about the relation & culture of man- developing into the fine well studied gentleman

I’m sure Taoism and Daoism is one and the same, just a different phonetic spelling for English.

T/Daoism is those who think you can have your cake and eat it.

Buddhism is that you can have your cake, but not being able to eat the cake is why you want it in the first place.

Confucianism is that you can have your cake, but you must discipline yourself not to eat it.

Buddhism is about experiencing true reality. By stripping away all illusion and attachment you see everything as it truly is. Then, you are free to enter a state of Nirvana.

Daoism is about flowing with the universal current. The Dao is the current, and you try to become one with it. By flowing with the river, you can accomplish more that fighting against it.

They’re a little bit opposite sounding at first but they actually have good synergy.

From what I was taught:
Daoism is a belief that you should do what you truly want. Live secluded from society. Understand that we are just part of nature. Know that the universe is in constant change. And understanding the relation of opposites (yin/yang).
Confucianism is about being a morale person and respecting those who are higher in social structure. Buddhism is about breaking out of the cycle of rebirth and suffering to reach nirvana.
Not sure about taoism…

Taoism and Daoism are the same thing. The two words are written differently according to transliteration. Tao/Dao both mean way or path. It is based on a path of moderation, similar to Tao/Dao comes Buddhism is also has a similar means of practice. Buddhism teaches the middle way; a moderation from self indulgence and mortification. Although Confucianism is based on ethical and moral principals.

I won’t go into too much detail. I don’t know enough about Tao/Dao or Confucianism, except Bud…

I believe that the difference between Taoism and Confusionism is that in Taoism if a man is in the ocean he would just let the current bring him where ever, a confusian would give a stroke there and a peddle over there and direct himself with the help of the current. I just know that Buddhism is about detachment and I really don’t know the difference between Taoism with a T or Daoism with a D I just thought that one is the way you write it while the otherone is how you pronounce it.

tenmanotenshi March 6, 2010 at 1:54 am

anyway. yes taoism/ daoism. same thing different romanization of the chinese character 道” meaning “way” or “path”. Buddhism; teachings the Buddha set forth for us so we can become enlightenment and freed from samsara and save those around us. Confucianism; teachings of Kǒng zǐ (aka Confucius). his teachings basically are for the sake of bettering society and home values. that is extremely basic breakdown.
